Estate Planning
Just because you’re healthy today doesn’t mean you want to wait until you’re sick to draft your will. Whatever your age, financial status or family situation, it is prudent planning to have a will.
More than mere wealth may be at stake. A properly executed will is an excellent way to appoint a guardian for your minor children. Additionally, you can make special provisions for an aging relative, handicapped child or significant other.
Consider the effects on your family if you do not have a will. No family situation brings on more stress than dividing up a parent’s estate after that parent has died.
It’s easy to get a will. Bartell, Barickman & Powell, LLP can draft a will that states your instructions for how your wealth is to be distributed after your death. It must be signed in the presence of at least two witnesses. Once completed, your will simply needs to be stored in a safe, but accessible, place. Most of our clients store them at our office.
